Grounds
Windledge Farm is a 308 acre gated private estate, perched on a 1200 knoll that affords it majestic views of the Western High Peaks Region of Maine. Only 30 acres are in tree growth, providing the owners with additional family compound development opportunities if desired. The paved driveway from the public road is approximately one-third of a mile to the Farmhouse, so privacy is maintained. The Farm has white 3 rail fencing (top rail is hot) encompassing 10 paddocks (2 sacrifice), and 3 multi-acre green turn-out pastures, each equipped with underground service for water (via hydrants) and electricity. A stone dust round pen completes the horse infrastructure.
The house and barn are connected electronically by underground cabling, so that sharing of internet, video, security, and communications is seamlessly provided. In addition, two stand-by generators provide electricity to the entire farm if street power is temporally lost. Energy is provided by three underground 1,000 gallon propane tanks, two at the Farmhouse and one at the Barn complex. Lastly, the Farm has approximately 3 miles of multipurpose, hiking, and horse-riding trails on the property for the enjoyment of guests and owners alike.
